Gloucestershire Wedding Photographer
Gloucestershire is a county of quiet contrasts.
From the soft, honey-stone villages of the Cotswolds to the wild, untamed beauty of the Forest of Dean and the gentle landscapes of the Severn Valley, it offers an incredible variety of settings for a wedding day that feels truly personal.
I’m Zara, a Gloucestershire wedding photographer capturing elegant, romantic and soulful weddings across the region. My approach is relaxed and documentary-led, allowing your day to unfold naturally, while gently guiding a few editorial-style portraits that feel effortless and true to you.

Cotswolds Wedding Venues
The Cotswolds is one of the most sought-after wedding locations in the UK — known for its golden stone architecture, rolling countryside, and timeless, romantic atmosphere.
I regularly photograph weddings at venues such as:
These venues lend themselves beautifully to soft, natural light and elegant, refined imagery — perfect for couples drawn to a romantic, editorial feel.

Forest of Dean Wedding Venues
For couples looking for something a little different, the Forest of Dean offers a more atmospheric and secluded setting.
With ancient woodland, winding paths, and a sense of quiet intimacy, it creates a completely different mood — one that feels grounded, romantic, and deeply personal.
Venues in this area include:
- Clearwell Castle
- The Speech House
The way light filters through the trees here creates beautifully soft, diffused tones — perfect for capturing emotive, storytelling images with a slightly moodier edge.
Severn Valley & Gloucestershire Countryside Weddings
Beyond the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire’s countryside offers a relaxed, open feel — with riverside views, family homes, and marquee celebrations that feel completely unique to each couple.
Venues and locations in this area include:
- Eastington Park
- Frampton-on-Severn venues
- Private estates and marquee weddings
- Elmore Court
These weddings often have a more personal, informal atmosphere, which lends itself beautifully to documentary photography — capturing the real, unfiltered moments that make your day yours.
A Relaxed, Natural Approach
No two weddings in Gloucestershire feel the same — and that’s exactly what I love about photographing here.
My approach is always calm and unobtrusive, allowing your day to unfold naturally without constant direction. I focus on capturing the moments you might not even realise are happening — the laughter, the movement, the quiet in-between.
- Alongside this, I gently guide a small number of relaxed portraits, giving you images that feel both natural and beautifully composed.

Gloucestershire Wedding Photographer FAQs
Where are you based?
I’m based near Stroud in Gloucestershire, right on the edge of the Cotswolds. Being centrally located means I can easily travel across the county — from Cheltenham and Cirencester to the Forest of Dean and the Severn Valley.
Do you only photograph weddings in the Cotswolds?
Not at all — while I photograph many weddings in the Cotswolds, I cover the whole of Gloucestershire and beyond.
From countryside barns and manor houses to woodland venues in the Forest of Dean and relaxed marquee weddings in the Severn Valley, I love the variety that Gloucestershire offers.
If you’re planning your wedding in the Cotswolds specifically, you can find more about my work as a Cotswolds wedding photographer here.
Do you travel for weddings outside Gloucestershire?
Yes, absolutely. While I’m a Gloucestershire wedding photographer, I regularly travel across the UK and Europe for weddings.
Whether you’re getting married elsewhere in the UK or planning a destination wedding, I’d love to hear more about your plans.
Have you photographed at our venue before?
There’s a good chance I have — I regularly work at venues across Gloucestershire including Kingscote Barn, Cripps Barn, Hyde House and Eastington Park.
If I haven’t photographed at your venue before, I’ll always take the time to visit ahead of your wedding or arrive early on the day to explore the best locations and light.
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?
Yes, I do. Pre-wedding shoots are a lovely way for us to get to know each other before your wedding day and for you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
How would you describe your photography style?
My style is relaxed, natural and documentary-led, with a gentle editorial touch.
I focus on capturing real moments as they unfold, while also guiding a small number of portraits that feel effortless and true to you — never forced or overly posed.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 12–24 months in advance, especially for popular summer dates and weekend weddings. However, I may have late availability, so it's always worth asking!
If you’re planning a wedding in Gloucestershire or the Cotswolds, I’d always recommend getting in touch as soon as you have your venue secured.
How many weddings do you photograph each year?
I take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure every couple receives a personal and attentive experience.
This allows me to fully focus on your day and deliver a gallery that feels thoughtful, refined and true to your story.
