Emily & Paul

Kingscote Barn, Cotswolds

I love Kingscote. Not just for being a few minutes away from where I live here in Gloucestershire but also the fact that it's so hidden from the road and quiet, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were miles from anyone and anywhere!

The bridal squad readied themselves with the amazing CELFIE hair and makeup at the venue's exclusive bridal preparation suite which sits alongside their overnight accommodation. I love this suite as it has so many mirrors making the room very light and airy.

Emily and Paul's day had some beautiful Chinese elements infused in the decor as well as including a Chinese Tea Ceremony before their Wedding Breakfast to honour the Bride's side of the family.

Emily is definitely a girl after my own heart, as the main floral centrepieces were made of succulents - which I'm currently having a small obsession with! Their Wedding Cakes also featured these plants as well as succulent decorated cupcakes made out of icing.

After the main legal ceremony, came the drinks and canapes reception. As the weather was dry (albeit cold and windy!) we made sure to get the family groups as most had travelled a long way, before making the most of the beautiful Cotswolds countryside surrounding Kingscote for the newlywed's photos. I have to give credit to the Maid of Honour here who helped out with the 'veil flick' photos... not only was she incredibly helpful carrying things but she managed to run backwards, across the grass in heels without tripping over! She deserves a medal!

It was then time for the tea ceremony so Emily and Paul headed off for a quick change into traditional Chinese wedding outfits before commencing the ceremony and starting the meal. I also have to say they were absolute gems about breaking off their meal to head outside for a sunset photo - it was well worth it!

After the speeches and meal, numerous classic board games were set out for their guests which is SUCH a great idea. From a photographers perspective, we can get some great emotive shots and facial expressions of your guests whilst they play!

They finished off their beautiful day with a sparkler exit, evening photos and more games.

I'm back at Kingscote a few times next year and cannot wait!
