Nestled in the Cotswolds landscape and surrounded by Roman History and the iconic Bathhurst Estate, Cirencester is a popular and stunning town to get married in. With its array of historic and contemporary buildings to choose from (each unique in its own right), there simply is a venue for everyone.

As a photographer, I simply love this town for the opportunities to create unique, romantic photographs for the most important day of your lives.

 

So if you are recently engaged and looking to get married in this wonderful town, here are my top venues (in no particular order)…

 

 

1.    De Vere Cotswolds Water Park https://www.devere.co.uk/cotswold-water-park-hotel/weddings/

I’ve been to a few wedding fairs here and it’s stunning. If you love lakes and reflections this is definitely the venue for you. Set amongst The Cotswolds Water Park, the hotel itself has a wonderfully chic and stylish vibe with 7 suites available for your nuptials whether it’s a more intimate ceremony or a grand one. With plenty of hotel rooms and parking available, this is the perfect venue for your guests to enjoy and relax.

‘Simply perfect’ is what a lot of their wedding reviews state and it would be hard to argue otherwise with its beautiful location just outside the town in the village of Ampney Crucis. This Country Inn is nestled next to Ampney Brook and has numerous locations for stunning photographs. With its rustic countryside charm, this venue is not only simply perfect but delightful for those drawn to an intimate rural location.

As a photographer, I do love the variety of rooms available and how unique each one is. From the Georgian Assembly Room with its Pride & Prejudice vibes to the unique Vaulted Cellar and popular Corn Hall (plus a few other unique rooms that you simply must view), this venue literally offers a choice for all couples and all styles of wedding. Its also situated in the heart of Cirencester so guests can also spend a few days away exploring all that this beautiful town has to offer. I highly recommend viewing this remarkable venue to see for yourselves.

Originally a country house and now a stunning hotel, this 17th-century venue is teeming with potential for both classic and contemporary styles of wedding. Situated close to the town centre, this venue prides itself on rolling out the red carpet for your big day and no request is too much for the wonderful team here. It features a stunning function room for your ceremony and a lovely garden for your guests to mingle in. There is an array of picturesque spaces for stylish wedding photographs.

A beautiful 18th Century Cotswolds Stone Barn, located just a few miles from Cirencester is the stunning Cripps Barn. Showcasing the best of the Cotswolds charm, this popular venue has won rave reviews not only for its magical setting but also for its delicious food. The team here definitely put their all into making each wedding day special and unique and memorable for everyone. The picturesque grounds are absolutely delightful for any photographer to capture an idyllic Cotswolds wedding.

Built-in 1825, this town-centre venue has undergone an extensive refurbishment to not only upgrade but also preserve the Cotswolds character of this delightful house. There are four venue rooms to choose from, exceptionally helpful staff and a private terrace garden for your guests. Ingleside prides itself on its care and organization of your big day and its numerous reviews reflect their dedication to making the dreams for your big day a reality.

The iconic Royal Agricultural University is licensed for both civil and religious ceremonies and has an onsite Victorian Chapel so you won’t need to travel offsite. Civil Ceremonies can take place in 3 prestigious function rooms, each with its own unique character. With 25 acres of manicured grounds and a stunning Victorian building, photo opportunities here are almost endless! A tour of the building and grounds is recommended to see the most of what this venue has to offer.

  

8.    Bingham hall https://www.binghamhall.co.uk/weddings 

This beautiful Edwardian theatre-style building located on Kings Street in the centre of town. A vibrant venue that can seat up to 300 guests for dining, the main hall is decorated in a beautiful red so really stands out and makes it a truly unique setting for a reception. It is also a very disabled friendly venue with various access routes, on-street parking as well as being able to arrange other parking for your guests nearby. Religious ceremonies can be held in the nearby church and civil ceremonies in various adjoining towns and venues.

A simply unique and exceptional venue located only a few minutes outside of Cirencester (and not far from Kemble train station) is Bittenham Springs. This exclusive use marque venue is set in some impeccable grounds, resplendent with all types of trees and a picturesque lake where you are guaranteed romantic wedding photographs. With plenty of space for your guests to spread out, this has to be one of the most relaxing venues around. The owners pride themselves on being flexible so it's well worth checking out if you are looking for a garden-style of wedding.

A beautiful Cotswolds character house, set in striking and magnificent grounds, Barnsley House Hotel is renowned for its elegant, countryside charm. This venue can host up to 100 guests for an indoor ceremony and up to 120 for a marquee on the lawn. As a photographer, I have to admire not just the house but especially the gardens. It definitely has a romantic and enchanting vibe that will make for phenomenal fairytale wedding photographs. PS - I also love the fact that this venue has a private cinema that you and your guests can use!
