South Gloucestershire Wedding Venues

Part of what I call ‘Glorious Gloucestershire’ (I know, I’m biased), this southern end of the county has venues for everyone. Not only does it cover some of the Cotswolds Hills, but it also borders the northern side of Bristol for the more metropolitan of you. I know a lot of inner-city couples that choose South Gloucestershire for their big day so they have the feel of the countryside, whilst being only a few miles from important city transport links, making it a superb location for couples and their guests.

As with all venues, seeing is believing so I would really recommend contacting each and everyone for a brochure and a visit to help narrow down your search.

I’ve photographed at a few of the wedding venues below and will be again in the future so do keep an eye on my galleries for the latest photographs. I also exhibit at a few of the wedding fairs here so if you’d like to meet let me know and I’ll keep an eye out for you!

De Vere Torteworth Court

https://www.devere.co.uk/tortworth-court/weddings/

Beautiful in rain or sunshine (I know, having covered a small wedding where it rained torrentially!) De Vere Torteworth Court is easily accessed by the M5 and A38. A Grand historic building with one of the most beautiful Victorian Orangeries in the country (me being biased again!), this venue is simply breathtaking. It’s also set amongst 30 acres of grounds to make your wedding photos truly majestic.

Eastwood park

https://www.eastwoodpark.co.uk/

Also easily located from the A38 and M5 is Eastwood Park, a true gem of a countryside manor that is set in over 200 acres of beautiful grounds (again, perfect for photographs!). With a newly refurbished wedding suite and spectacular views that go on for miles and miles, a visit to this venue is a must in my opinion!

Thornbury Castle

https://www.thornburycastle.co.uk/

As a history aficionado, I personally love this venue for the fact that King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn stayed here. You can even sleep in the same room that they did!

As a majestic Tudor castle, this certainly ticks the ‘fairytale’ boxes with its turrets, grand hall and walled gardens and has been a popular wedding venue for a number of years. The team is so dedicated so definitely check this one out.

Thornbury Golf Course

https://thornburygc.co.uk/

Licensed to hold civil wedding and partnership ceremonies, this tasteful and elegant venue is also within easy reach of the M5/M4 and A38. Offering a newly refurbished wedding suite with panoramic views over the golf course, this venue definitely offers both beauty and value.

Old Down Estate

https://olddownestate.co.uk/weddings/

The Estate has two wedding venues – The Manor House and The Barn.

The Manor House encapsulates a charming bygone era whilst also having modern touches thanks to a recent £5m refurbishment. With Crystal chandeliers, sweeping staircases and an orangery, this is refinery at its finest.

The Barn is a charming, warm, intimate venue of flagstone floors, exposed wood beams, wood-burning stoves, stone walls and twinkling fairy lights.

So two different types of venue but each unique, charming and very popular!

Aztec Hotel & Spa

https://www.aztechotelbristol.co.uk/weddings/

Set not far from the city and within a few minute's drive of the M5 and M4 is this amazing hotel and spa. I can also attest to the fact that the food here is amazing having photographed a wedding at this venue in 2019! As a photographer, we got some beautiful daytime and nighttime portraits (view some of the photos here). The staff couldn’t have been more helpful so personally, I would really recommend checking this venue and their website out.

The Kendleshire

https://weddings.kendleshire.com/

They have an amazing video on their website showing an aerial view of the grounds so the first thing I would recommend is looking at this!

A stunning golf club located just outside of Bristol, you’ll definitely get some amazing photographs amongst the ponds, bridges and trees and your guests will enjoy the views and contemporary clubhouse.

Winterbourne Medieval Barn

https://www.winterbournebarn.org.uk/weddings/

A truly unique medieval barn built all the way back in 1342, this place oozes not just history but intimacy and elegance. The venue also offers a ‘blank canvas’ approach and welcomes your own ideas for the big day as well as being able to choose your own catering, bar and decorations. Please do check out the galleries on their website to view this amazing historical venue if you are unable to pop down at the moment.

Tracy Park

https://www.tracypark.co.uk/weddings/

Located at the southernmost end of South Gloucestershire and close to Bath is Tracy Park, a beautiful Jacobean Manor House with extensive grounds and panoramic views. Offering 3 function rooms, this venue can cater for both larger and smaller weddings. They have an online brochure so please do visit their website.

Hamswell House

https://www.hamswellhouse.co.uk/

A privately-owned home and exclusive use venue, Hamswell House has grounds like no other for your wedding photos! With beautiful covered walkways, pergolas, small stone features and a stunning terrace with sweeping views over the Cotswolds, this is definitely worth visiting to appreciate its true beauty.

As always, if I have left a venue out let me know and I shall add it in for you :)
