Sadly Alicja's Polish family couldn't be there on the day due to travel restrictions but they managed to tune in via the wonderful medium of video call! That didn't stop many of their beloved friends, family and colleagues from standing outside the church to wish them well, shower them with confetti and give them a guard of honour, complete with an arch made of walking sticks from the care home that Alicja works in!
The Catholic church itself is phenomenal and I'm not even sure there is another like it in Gloucestershire. With a Scandinavian feel with old beams and carvings and absolutely stunning window, I knew as I walked in that the photos would be something special for them as you'll see below.
The reception was held just down the road at the village hall where the community came together to do the decorating and catering. They are a very much loved couple!
